Dr. Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman

The Analytics for Cyber Defense (ACyD) Lab at Florida International University (FIU) seeks multiple highly motivated and qualified students to fill our Ph.D. Research/Graduate Assistant positions for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. The applicants must hold a BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Preferred qualities include scholarly publications, especially in cybersecurity, the internet of things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems (CPSs).

ACyD Lab receives funds from various federal agencies, including the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Department of Defense (DOD). The PhD positions will be supported through DOE grants and will work primarily in CPS/IoT/power system security.

Qualifications

This lab is currently seeking graduate students with one or more of the current capabilities:

– Extensive research background in CPSs

– Solid knowledge of cybersecurity

– Skills in programming (e.g., Python, C/C++, C#, etc.)

– Good oral and written communication.

– Preferred qualities: Expertise in power systems and controls; skills in formal methods, machine learning, Matlab/Simulink, and real-time simulators.
