Position Description:
A Ph.D. Research Assistantship is available in Dr. Huo’s lab within the Horticulture Science Department at the University of Florida. The candidate will work on developing protocols for genetic transformation and gene editing in fruit trees and other crop species for functional characterization. The position includes a full research assistantship, which waives tuition and provides an annual stipend for an FTE0.5 appointment.
Qualification:
- GPA 3.0 or above
- TOEFL score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.0
- GRE is NOT required
Preferred Qualification:
- M.S. degree in relevant areas (Plant Biotechnology, Horticulture, Agronomy, Forestry, Plant Biology, Plant Pathology, Genetics)
- Strong publication record
- Research experience in genome editing
