Position Description:
This PhD assistantship is for a student in the doctoral program in Epidemiology at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), under the mentorship of Dr. Gregory Knell. The assistantship involves mentored research of at least 20 hours per week, focused on clinical and behavioral epidemiology, specifically around physical activity and associated behaviors such as sleep and sports.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be passionate about epidemiology and have a strong interest in the clinical and behavioral aspects of physical activity and related behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications:
An ideal candidate will have experience or a particular interest in clinical and behavioral epidemiology related to physical activity, sleep, sports, and environmental exposures.

Project Details:
Dr. Knell’s current research projects focus on the relationship between physical activity and health outcomes, including brain aging, as well as the impact of environmental exposures and the sports environment on sleep and sports-related health outcomes.
Funding:
The assistantship offers a comprehensive financial package, including an annual stipend, a full tuition waiver, free medical insurance, and coverage of fees for up to four years.
