Dr. Baikun Li
Professor Baikun Li in The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut (#UConn) invites applications for a Graduate Research Assistant position to pursue frontier research on multiple topics related to electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) technology, electrochemical water/soil sensor development, advanced material science, advanced data science, and DFT/MD modeling. This position can be available in #Spring2024.
Requirements for this PhD student position:
1. The ideal candidate should possess master’s or bachelor’s degrees in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
2. Extreme self-motivation to explore multi-disciplinary research and collaboration in the frontier CO2RR and DFT/MD modeling is required for this position.
3. Excellent hands-on experimental ability, electrochemical principles and understanding, modeling and computing capability, writing and presentation skills, teamwork attitude, and aspiration to solve scientific and engineering problems are required.
4. A TOEFL score is required for international students, and the minimum requirement is 90 (internet-based). IELTS may be substituted for the TOEFL only if it is above 6.5.
Graduate research assistants will be supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy (DOE), and have enormous opportunities to work with researchers and faculty members from different departments.
