Dr. Jenny Kent
I’m looking for a highly motivated person with a strong interest in human movement science and/or prosthetics to join my research team at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), starting in Fall 2024.
Research Area
- dynamic balance and coordination during real-world mobility tasks
- skill acquisition with a prosthesis
- sensation and perception in people with amputation
- heterogeneity/individuality in locomotor strategies
The team member will pursue our Interdisciplinary Health Sciences PhD program(https://www.unlv.edu/degree/phd-interdisciplinary-health-sciences). Prospective students with an MS in biomedical or mechanical engineering, neuroscience, biomechanics, motor control, psychology or related fields, are encouraged to apply. I would also welcome applications from healthcare professionals with clinical degrees, e.g. MPO, DPT, and Clinical Scientists who are looking to develop research skills and committed to doctoral study. Prior research or clinical experience in human movement analysis and instrumentation, and programming skills (MATLAB, Visual 3D) are desired.
