Dr. Bing Yao

Dr. Bing Yao with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) is looking for three Ph.D. students starting in Spring/Fall 2024. The prospective students will receive full doctoral-level financial support with a tuition waiver.

Research interests

  • Big data analytics for spatiotemporal complex systems
  • Physics-informed machine learning
  • Computer simulation and optimization
  • Biomedical and health informatics
  • Data mining and signal processing
  • Markov decision process and sequential decision-making
  • Sensor-based modeling and control of additive manufacturing

Qualifications:

About Dr. Bing Yao

Dr. Bing Yao is the Dan Doulet Early Career Assistant Professor at UTK. She received her dual-title PhD degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Pennsylvania State University. She received her master’s degree in physics from Penn State and Bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
