Dr. Aditya Aiyer

The Multiscale Fluid Dynamics and Turbulence (M-FDT) Lab at Lehigh University is seeking 1-2 PhD candidates interested in air-sea interaction, wind energy, and turbulence modeling with applications in offshore wind energy and environmental transport starting Fall 2024. The opportunity includes full tuition support, generous stipend, benefits and travel support for conferences

Qualifications

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in engineering or a related STEM discipline
  • Strong coding skills and experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-fidelity numerical simulations of atmospheric and oceanic boundary layers Develop theoretical and data-driven models for offshore turbine wakes under different atmospheric stability condition
  • Publish research findings in conferences and peer-reviewed journals
