Position Description:
The Micro/nano-fluidic Biology and Energy Innovation Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University invites applications for fully funded Postdoc and Ph.D. positions. Research areas include Thermal Science, Fluids, surface science, droplets, electrokinetics, microfluidics, desalination, energy conversion harvesting devices, and biosensors through fundamental and practical investigations. Positions start in Fall 2025.

Qualifications:

  • Open to students from all science and engineering majors, especially Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, and Material Science.
  • Research experience in experiments or simulations and publication records are preferred but not required.

  • Strong interest in Thermal Science and Fluids.

About PI/Dr./Professor:
Dr. Bei Fan holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, San Diego (2019) and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC, 2015). She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Energy Storage & Distributed Division.
